ABOUT
Gabriella
Gabriella Wright was born on June 19, 1982, in Stoke Newington, London. She is the daughter of Paul David Wright, a British-Scottish sculptor and painter, and Anne Catherine Wright, a marine biologist.
“My father is an artist who creates large-scale paintings and sculptures. My mother comes from a family of scientists. She has French, Portuguese, and Mauritian ancestry. Our relatives of Indian descent are doctors or researchers, all driven by a deep passion for medical research and love of humanity.” Says Gabriella
Growing up alongside her younger siblings, artist Pascal and singer-songwriter Paulette, she nurtured a diverse cultural and artistic environment.
“We had a beautiful childhood. We were immersed in my father’s art, and it was truly magical. We never heard the word ‘no.’ Before I turned twelve, I had learned to play all the wind instruments. Paulette would sing at any chance, Pascale immersed herself in drawing, and I was always picking up an instrument. We thrived in this creative collective, wholeheartedly encouraged by our parents.“
The family relocated to France when she was 12, where she continued her education and later graduated with degrees in English Literature and Social Economics.
Gabriella Wright is a mother to her 20-year-old son, Sean-Michael, whom she shares with her former husband. Michael-Sean has been an integral part of her life’s narrative, balancing the demands of motherhood with her professional and humanitarian endeavors. She currently resides in New York City.
